Overview

Retail Trainer and Visual Merchandiser role at Guest Services, Inc. in Mount Rainier National Park. Compensation: 20.00 USD Hourly. Reports to the Retail Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Train retail managers and associates in use of the Counterpoint POS, product identification, expectations of shop cleanliness and hospitality standards.
  • Promote the spirit and intent of Guest Services Hospitality Standards.
  • Set displays to incorporate height and variety to enhance visual appeal to the park visitor.
  • Drive traffic through use of creative displays, making all areas of the shops shoppable and appealing.
  • Maintain integrity of retail display programs.
  • Change up display tables to keep them fresh and guest/staff interested.
  • Ensure appropriate signage is in place (handmade, made in America, local, Native American, hours of operation, artist profile, etc.).
  • Interface with DYNW and WNPF merchandise/representatives/vendors.
  • Assist in Ashford retail warehouse, checking in freight and processing orders as directed.
  • Participate in seasonal store set up, tear down and physical inventories.
  • Conduct cycle counts as directed.
  • Review and analyze min/max numbers are set correctly and effectively.
  • Conduct remedial training for shop associates as required.
  • Interface with operational General Managers to clarify and inform direction given and opportunities addressed.
  • Determine the need for merchandise/product to be placed on sale.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school education with some college education preferred.
  • Two years direct experience in a similar capacity and position accountabilities.
  • Retail Point-of-Sale and database experience and working knowledge with a preference to or with CounterPoint.
  • Computer proficiency with the ability to utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people; ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; ability to learn and develop new skills; ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently. Must be extremely organized, accurate, and detail oriented.

Physical And Mental Requirements

  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 20 lbs. occasionally and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.

  • Typical office equipment (computers, multi-extension phone system, fax, copiers, scanners, among others).
