Position: Web Developer (PHP/WordPress Focus)

Location: Cypress, CA (Onsite 3 days/week)

Salary Range: $120,000 – $130,000

Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders

Web Development is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the company’s external websites and related digital platforms. This role supports the Digital Product Manager in delivering web-based solutions aligned with business and user needs. The position involves front-end and full-stack development tasks, ensuring responsive, accessible, and secure web experiences. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support new features, troubleshoot issues, and optimize site performance.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Design: Analyze business and functional requirements to create detailed technical designs for web-based solutions, including integrations with third-party systems or APIs.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that may span multiple technologies or platforms.
  • Participate in peer reviews to ensure design quality and adherence to architectural standards.
  • Apply established design patterns and development standards across web applications.
  • Ensure solutions are optimized for performance, accessibility, and responsive design.
  • Web Application Development: Develop, modify, and enhance medium- to high-complexity external web applications using modern development frameworks and languages.
  • Write high-quality, testable, and maintainable code that meets business needs and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA, to ensure successful delivery of features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the web stack.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
  • Implement application-level logging, monitoring, and error-handling strategies.
  • Proactively improve system reliability, scalability, and maintainability
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute unit and integrate test cases to validate code quality and behavior.
  • Ensure code changes meet acceptance criteria and resolve identified defects.
  • Document test procedures and results in accordance with internal processes.
  • Work with QA and product teams to support user acceptance testing and production validation.
  • Develop reusable test suites to support regression testing and future feature development.
  • Project and Task Estimation: Provide accurate time and effort estimates for assigned tasks and project phases.
  • Communicate dependencies, risks, and constraints during planning and execution.
  • Track task progress and deliver work in alignment with project timelines and priorities.
  • Adherence to Standards and Best Practices: Follow established software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, coding standards, and documentation guidelines.
  • Incorporate input from Architecture and Security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Contribute to standardization efforts by identifying opportunities for reusable solutions, consistent design approaches, and shared components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on web applications, required.
  • Experience using jQuery to enhance interactivity and streamline DOM manipulation.
  • Ability to create clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Solid experience with PHP, particularly in the context of WordPress theme and plugin development.
  • Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, including the template hierarchy, hooks (actions and filters), and the REST API.
  • Knowledge of managing CRON jobs and ability to support custom plug-in for current websites.
  • Familiarity with popular page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi) and frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of responsive web design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Proficient in using cPanel or similar web hosting control panels for managing domains, databases, email, and file systems.
  • Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and managing LAMP stack configurations.
  • Familiarity with MySQL or other relational databases, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Understanding of database structure, normalization, and backup/restore procedures.
  • Basic understanding of DNS, domain propagation, and how to configure domain records (A, CNAME, MX, etc.).
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems for source code management and team collaboration.
  • Familiarity with platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
