Summary

The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Job Responsibilities

• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication

Typical Day in the Role

• Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to develop and maintain documentation for an Android-based operating system, which is used by partners to build devices and solutions.
• Key projects: This role will contribute to the professional review, polish, and ongoing maintenance of partner-facing documentation for the Device Ecosystem Platform.
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of an initial comprehensive review and polish of existing documentation, followed by periodic maintenance aligned with product updates, with a flexible schedule and hours.
