Director of Marketing Automation

to lead our marketing automation efforts across platforms and teams. This is a high-impact role to drive the vision, execution, and optimization of automated marketing campaigns that enhance customer engagement, improve operational efficiency, and deliver measurable business impact. You will lead a team of specialists and collaborate cross-functionally to architect and evolve our Salesforce Marketing Cloud ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with data sources and alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing automation strategy across B2B and B2C segments. Strategy & Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of marketing automation professionals, fostering innovation and accountability. Strategy & Leadership: Own the roadmap for Marketing Cloud, prioritizing enhancements and addressing technical debt. Platform Management: Oversee configuration and governance of all aspects of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). Platform Management: Ensure platform scalability, data integrity, and compliance with CAN-SPAM and CASL regulations. Platform Management: Partner with IT, Analytics, and Marketing Ops to align automation with technical architecture and data models. Campaign Execution & Optimization: Guide the design, build, and deployment of automated customer journeys and personalized campaigns. Campaign Execution & Optimization: Implement testing and optimization strategies to improve campaign performance and ROI. Campaign Execution & Optimization: Monitor deliverability, subscriber health, and platform performance. Collaboration & Enablement: Work cross-functionally with audience owners, data teams, and campaign managers to translate business goals into technical solutions. Collaboration & Enablement: Develop documentation, training programs, and onboarding materials to upskill internal teams. Collaboration & Enablement: Serve as the point of contact for issue resolution and platform health monitoring.

Qualifications

Experience 7+ years in marketing automation, with 3+ years in a leadership role. Deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including AMPscript, SQL, HTML/CSS. Proven success in designing scalable architectures and integrating Salesforce Data Cloud. Skills Strong understanding of relational data models, segmentation, and audience management. Excellent communication and project management skills. Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Certifications (Preferred) Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Marketing Cloud Administrator or Consultant

At Cengage Group, we take great pride in our commitment to providing a comprehensive and rewarding Total Rewards package designed to support and empower our employees. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles may include incentive compensation beyond base pay. $138,200.00 - $160,000.00 USD
