Job Description Summary
The mission of Marketing and Communications (MarCom) is to strategically advance the stature of Santa Fe College and improve the recruitment and retention of SF students by producing and providing direction for online, print and promotional materials, as well as consistent and meaningful media relations.
The Creative Content Specialist produces and edits digital and print content as well as marketing materials aligned with the college's brand and strategic priorities under the guidance of the Communications Manager. As an integral member of the Marketing and Communications team, the Creative Content Specialist supports the department's mission to advance the college's stature and strengthen student recruitment and retention by delivering meaningful communications across the college website, social media, and print platforms. This position collaborates with stakeholders collegewide to ensure brand consistency, coordinate messaging, and uphold the highest standards of internal and external communications.
This position requires the ability to effectively cross-manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high-level of quality and attention to detail. Additionally, the Creative Content Specialist must be adaptable, collaborative, and organized in order to meet the needs of the department and the college.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required: A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications or related fields with two (2) years of experience in communications, content creation, social media, public relations, or related areas or a combination of education and/or experience equal to six (6) years.
Additional Requirements: Must be able to demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills and have prior experience with Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suites as well as some photography and videography skills. A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Prior experience in higher education communications, marketing, and/or content creation.

Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
- Develops original, engaging, and brand-aligned content for multiple communication platforms, including the college website, blogs, social media, video and radio scripts, advertisements, promotional materials, articles, and announcements.
- Creates compelling digital content for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms, as well as special projects for college events and advertising campaigns, both individually and as part of larger Marketing and Communications initiatives.
- Collaborates with the Manager and Web team to create and maintain user-friendly, visually appealing, and brand-aligned web content that supports student recruitment and engagement, including copywriting, photography, and videography.
- Attends key college events to produce digital content, including graduations, ribbon cuttings, arts festivals, and other special events during the work week, as well as some evenings and weekends.
- Reviews, proofs, and edits collegewide publications to ensure adherence to AP and SF styles guidelines, applying strong grammar and punctuation skills to maintain clear, consistent, and professional communications.
- Supports social media functions in the absence of the Specialist and/or for large-scale projects by monitoring channels, posting content, and responding to inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
- Manages time effectively and balances multiple competing priorities, ensuring the timely completion of critical projects as assigned and alignment with departmental and collegewide strategic goals.
- Stays abreast of communications, marketing, and higher education trends to ensure creative work remains modern and relevant.
- Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
- Strictly honors the privacy, security, and confidentiality of employee and student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
