General Description

Assist University Marketing & Communications staff with campus photography, general office duties, social media, and communications.

Essential Job Duties

• Photographs a variety of subjects, including, but not limited to, athletic games, campus and Student Life events, campus imagery, and headshots
• Processes photos, including culling, editing, renaming, and keywording
• Assists with organizing and maintaining the digital asset archive
• Acts as a mentor to student photographers
• Performs general office duties
• Assists with UM social media account content and administration
• Assists with University communications

Education and Experience

Undergraduate degree in photography, communication studies, or related area.

Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

• Intermediate to advanced experience with photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, etc.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Adobe software, including Lightroom, Photoshop, and Bridge in a Mac environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word
• Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail
• Reliable and responsible with the ability to prioritize and complete projects with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong writing skills
• Knowledge of social media administration

Preferred

Major: Photography, Communication Studies, or related area.

Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations

Undergraduate degree in photography, communication studies, or related area
