Overview

Sefaria, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the future of Jewish texts in an open and participatory way, seeks a full-time Creative Marketing Manager to drive the organization's creative vision. This is a remote US-based exempt position.

Position Overview

The Creative Marketing Manager oversees creative initiatives from concept to execution, owns all design projects and ad campaigns for marketing, communications, and fundraising, and collaborates with design contractors, the marketing and communications team, the fundraising team, and the product team’s UX/UI designer. The ideal candidate is a graphic designer who ensures projects are completed within budget and on time while delivering high-quality work. The Manager will set the aesthetic, tone, and direction of creative and reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead creative projects, including developing ideas, presenting concepts, and managing execution.
  • Develop ~4-6 creative briefs per quarter for larger campaigns and creative projects, including goals, audience, channels, and strategic direction.
  • Own concepting and oversee the design of 20-30 creative assets per month (60-70% of projects contracted to external creatives).
  • Produce landing pages, pop-ups, and banners (Unbounce, Figma).
  • Create print and digital materials (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Design email templates (Figma, Illustrator, ActiveCampaign).
  • Execute social media and ad creation – graphic and video (Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, AfterEffects).
  • Prepare fundraising reports and materials (Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Develop presentations (Canva, Google Slides).
  • Handle other creative marketing and communications projects as needed.
  • Manage paid advertising work (~4-6 new campaigns per year plus evergreen campaigns), including:
  • Execute paid ad strategy for Google, Meta, YouTube, and other opportunities with support from the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Concept ad campaigns and develop creative briefs; write creative copy and coordinate with in-house writers.
  • Design ad graphics and supervise/collaborate with creative contractors from concept to delivery by writing briefs and providing feedback.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and maintain creative standards, guidelines, and best practices; monitor trends in the creative industry and apply them where appropriate.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements

  • At least seven to ten years of experience in marketing and graphic design.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, advertising, or related field.
  • Proven track record in creative project management and successful ad campaigns.
  • Experience applying brand guidelines to create visual assets.
  • Strong typography, color, and layout skills for clear communication.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AfterEffects), Figma, and Canva.
  • HTML knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with project management software (Monday.com preferred).
  • Proficiency with online collaboration tools (GSuite, Slack, Zoom); training provided as needed.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $82,000 to $86,000.

The Creative Marketing Manager may be based anywhere in the continental United States, with a preference for Central and Eastern time zones.

  • At least two ad campaigns, showing coordinating copy and designs for a multi-channel campaign.
  • Clear, concise narratives for each entry, including your role, problem, and impact statement.
