Overview

Highland United Methodist Church is seeking a Music Director to join our team as a part-time employee. We are a vibrant and welcoming church community committed to serving God and supporting our congregation.

Position Overview: The Music Director will provide essential music for services.

Responsibilities

• Leading and directing choir during worship services.
• Selecting and providing music from our library to be used during services.
• Playing the piano/organ at church functions.
• Selecting Christmas and Easter Cantatas, leading and directing choir, and possibly including other church choirs for these services.
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism regarding sensitive information.
• Playing the piano/organ at weddings or funerals if available.
• Leading and directing choir rehearsals.
• Leading Vacation Bible School music ministry one week during the summer.

Qualifications

• Experience in music ministry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong keyboard and vocal accompaniment skills.
• Familiarity with church environments is a plus.
