Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. is hiring: Publishing Assistant in Carol Stream
Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., Carol Stream, IL, United States, 60158
Overview
Description
For more than 60 years, Tyndale has helped readers discover the life-giving truths of God’s Word. Today we’re one of the largest independently owned Christian publishers in the world. Though our business has grown, our mission remains the same: to open God’s Word to as many as possible in language they can relate to and understand.
Tyndale Alliances is a small, agile, tight-knit team within Tyndale House Publishers that serves two niche, independent Christian publishers: Focus on the Family and NavPress. Our goal with our partners is to continually move toward excellent communication, strong relationships, and long-term growth. Interested in working on a thoughtful, collaborative, and creative team? We’re a fun bunch that loves Jesus, and we’re ready to train, support, and encourage the right candidate.
The Publishing Assistant plays a key role in bringing ideas to life! You’ll get to support both production and marketing for the Alliances team while also providing essential administrative support for the Alliances and Rose Publishing teams. From coordinating a wide variety of products (such as books, Bible studies, pamphlets, and even Bibles) to keeping projects moving smoothly, every day looks a little different. You’ll be the glue that holds projects together, communicating clearly and consistently with authors, partners, and teammates to make sure requests are met and deadlines are achieved.
What You'll Do
- Production Coordination: Enter and maintain product information in the production system, route materials through established workflows, manage schedules, and ensure accurate handoffs between teams.
- Marketing Support: Assist with sales conference preparation, sales sheets, fact sheets, and digital marketing efforts (WordPress, YouVersion, YouTube, etc.), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with PR, sales, editorial, design, and production teams to support product launches and marketing initiatives.
- ARC & Materials Management: Coordinate Advanced Reader Copies, author/partner contracts, marketing collateral (flyers, catalogs, banners), and distribution of office/influencer copies.
- Administrative Assistance: Manage calendars, mailing lists, reporting, budgets, and meeting logistics while supporting directors and senior managers as needed.
- Backup & Support: Provide backup to Product Managers and cross-train with administrative assistants to maintain workflow during peak times or absences.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years’ experience in an administrative role managing details and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent relational skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to travel less than 10% on occasion.
- Publishing industry experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Social Media, WordPress, and Canva experience a plus.
- Spanish written language skills a plus.
