This opportunity is for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized educational services to students with visual impairments across grades K-12 in a public school setting located in Richlands, North Carolina. This contract role is suitable for new TVIs ready to begin their professional journey and support students learning and independence. Key Responsibilities: Assess and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments. Deliver direct instruction and consultation services to students, parents, and classroom teachers. Provide training on assistive technology and adaptive strategies to enhance access to the curriculum. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including counselors, speech therapists, and occupational therapists. Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to maximize educational outcomes. Support students in developing skills for orientation and mobility when applicable. Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
