AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Design Manager for immediate employment in our Bloomfield, NJ office. The successful candidate will support the Water Business Line Design Team to complete a diverse range of projects related to riverine and coastal flood risk management, dam and levee safety, and stormwater management. Projects include design of levees, floodwalls, closure gates, weirs, dams, channels, pump stations and other hydraulic structures. The work involves design of reinforced concrete structures and foundations, and appurtenant steel structures and gates. The candidate must be familiar with ASCE and ACI design codes, as well as Army Corps Engineering Regulations and Design Manuals. Responsibilities
Develop and manage multidisciplinary project schedules and budgets. Develop or review basis of design documents. Provide technical leadership for civil, hydraulic, or structural design disciplines. Provide supervision of less experienced engineers. Review drawings (plans and details) and visual aids through coordination with designers. Review quantity calculations, prepare reports, and create report figures. Perform assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and codes. Participate in client meetings and presentations. Perform site visits and inspections. Provide construction support including reviewing construction submittals and RFIs. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering plus 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Experience related to flood control design or dam safety. Professional Engineer (PE) License. Preferred Qualifications: Master\'s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Experience with hydraulic structure design criteria from the USACE, FERC and Reclamation. 15+ years of experience with dams, floodwalls, gate chambers or other hydraulic structures design. Proficiency with design and modeling software, Mathcad, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiar with AutoCAD and/or Microstation. PE in NY and/or NJ or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Additional Information
