The Director of Technical Design is responsible for ensuring that Brand quality fit, desired appearance, and quality construction standards are met and maintained. This position will lead a team of Technical Designers, work with cross functional teams to enhance and evolve processes, broaden technical knowledge, and elevate the quality of the product while maintaining brand integrity through consistent fit and customer focus. The Director reports to the Sr. Director of Sourcing, Technical Design & Sustainability. Application Note:

Coach and develop team members by setting strategy and monitoring progress towards goals. Manage the Technical Design team to enhance and evolve processes and procedures as the business evolves while driving to elevate product quality. Schedule and lead weekly fit sessions. Collaborate with designers and merchants to translate fit and aesthetic details. Direct a team that creates and maintains tech packs including garment construction, graded measurement charts, fit comments, and pattern corrections. Provide technical direction, with TD team, design team, PD team and vendors on specs, patterns, construction methods and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall garment quality. Identify potential production, quality, costing issues and make recommendations while maintaining design and fit intent. Maintain fit consistency and ensure standard grade rules are applied to each garment. Ensure Product Lifecycle Calendar dates are met for Development and Garment Fit Approvals. Anticipate and resolve problems with the fit process; partner with vendors to resolve issues as necessary. Attend weekly cross-functional team meetings and raise any vendor, quality, or timeline concerns. What You'll Need

10+ years of pattern making/block development, grading and technical design experience 8+ years of managing a Technical Design team Strong knowledge of garment construction standards and manufacturing processes Extensive knowledge of fit, balance, garment construction, fabrics, and fabric performance Experience in development and use of blocks Detail oriented with ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent time management skills Advanced knowledge of web-based applications, e.g. FLEX PLM or comparable software Experience with 3D software is a plus Eberjey Extras
