Overview Join to apply for the Event Design, Boston role at CSI DMC . The role is an experienced Event Designer on the Creative Services team, responsible for creating proposals, presentations and collateral, contributing concepts that build business, and delivering exceptional experiences in all they develop. This position designs events in the Boston, MA area and nationwide.
Responsibilities Live in the Boston, MA area.
Storytell the full guest experience throughout the event theme—from decor, entertainment, interactive elements, and food and beverage.
Design corporate event elements within provided budgets and deadlines; research supplier availability and collaborate with Account Executives to manage negotiations with suppliers.
Design, diagram, manage and oversee event design elements for the initial proposal process through program turnover.
Create storyboards to accompany written descriptions to enhance and convey ideas.
Develop, write and design client proposals.
Create and utilize pre-written descriptions for proposal options (e.g., tours, restaurants, venues, concepts), ensuring verbiage is tailored to the event/client.
Reach out to new vendors discovered through networking, industry publications, competitors, etc.
Attend networking events as schedule/deadlines allow.
Perform additional administrative duties related to CSI DMC creative needs.
Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in Event Design with progressive responsibility.
Exceptional descriptive writing with the ability to be communicative, clear, creative, and able to tell the story.
A creative mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented attitude.
A desire to continually build knowledge and develop a creative portfolio of resources.
Ability to take initiative and propose ideas.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge and/or the desire to learn about the Events Industry and Destination Management Companies and their services.
