About the Role

Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Senior Video Product Specialist (Sr Specialist, Technical). The Senior Video Product Specialist will be part of product planning related responsibilities, including new product launch such as new cinema and broadcast products, as well as research, future product and planning. This role also involves tradeshow planning, setup and demonstrating Canon products. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with an option to work from home the remainder of the week, unless a specific business need requires in-office attendance on other days. Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Your Impact

  1. New Product Launch: go through tech notes and product manuals, create bullet points and presentation slides, become familiar with the product using early stage samples and contribute to a successful launch as a tech evangelist.
  2. Occasional Back-up PR Spokesperson: back up the main spokesperson and occasionally perform as a PR spokesperson for camera/lens products.
  3. 3rd Party Vendor Relationship: act as a main or sub point of contact for 3rd party vendors to handle requests such as 3D CAD drawings and related items.

About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and isolate technical problems, recommend actions and solutions, and proficiency with the Canon product line, particularly the applications of professional and industrial products.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Professional knowledge of Broadcast and Cinema Lenses and advanced customer support techniques may be required.
  • Physical requirements: Occasional lifting up to 60 lbs (lenses and accessories); ability to use hand tools; close visual acuity for computer use and tool/equipment analysis; potential environmental exposure when working outside and on sets.
  • Travel of 25% or more nationwide.
  • Valid state driver\'s license with a clean driving record; driving for company business as an essential function of the job and compliance with safety guidelines.

Salary: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $76,150 - $114,040 annually.
