A school in Marshall, TX, is seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in a full academic year (NSY) contract position. This role involves providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students to enhance their learning experiences and promote independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' visual impairments
Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate services
Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and related service providers
Qualifications:
Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or relevant state licensure
Experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 settings
Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and specialized instructional strategies
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to student-centered education and individualized support
