Overview

3D Production Artist Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled 3D Production Artist to support the transformation of raw scan data into production-ready assets. This role is focused on digital preservation and the creation of photorealistic, optimized 3D materials for use across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, artistic eye, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

This role is onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Import, clean, and optimize raw 3D scan data for use in real-time and high-fidelity rendering environments.
• Refine and retouch textures using Adobe Substance tools within a physically-based rendering (PBR) workflow.
• Ensure materials and assets meet performance, quality, and consistency standards across target platforms such as archival, web, AR, and VR.
• Collaborate with scanning operators and archivists to deliver accurate and polished assets.
• Maintain structured file organization and clear naming conventions to support efficient asset management.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with 3D scan data and post-processing workflows.
• Proficiency in Adobe Substance 3D Painter and related Substance tools.
• Strong knowledge of PBR material workflows, UV mapping, retopology, and baking processes.
• Skilled in 3D modeling software such as Blender; familiarity with real-time rendering engines is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, especially regarding material surface qualities and realism.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to evolving project needs.
• Preferred: background in digital art, VFX, or 3D production; experience with photogrammetry pipelines; knowledge of color calibration; and an interest in digital preservation.

Compensation: up to $40/hr. (DOE)
