Assistant Professor, Music, Director Of Choral Studies. The Department of Music within the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Tampa seeks a full-time, tenure-track Director of Choral Studies - Assistant Professor of Music with experience in vocal music education to begin in August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Lead the UTampa choral program, including conducting choral ensembles and teaching choral conducting and choral methods courses.
• Mentor students in the vocalist track of the Music Education major and participate in recruitment and outreach activities on and off campus.
• Teach additional courses as needed (e.g., aural skills) depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Required: Terminal degree in Music.
• Preferred: DMA (or ABD) in choral conducting; at least one degree in choral conducting and one in music education; successful teaching experience in K-12 and at the college level; experience teaching aural skills; demonstrated success as a music educator and choral director; commitment to outreach and recruitment.
