Overview

Marin Waldorf School in San Rafael, CA is looking for dynamic, creative, and dedicated substitute music teachers to join our vibrant school. We have an immediate need for a long-term substitute, and we welcome applicants who can bring flexibility, warmth and enthusiasm to support our students in Grade 1 through 8. Experience with Waldorf education is a plus but not required. We offer a variety of substitute opportunities to fit different schedules.

Primary responsibilities

• Track accurate attendance
• Follow and execute lesson plans arranged by the absent teacher in accordance with the daily schedule

• Strong classroom management skills
• Positive and effective communication skills with colleagues and parents
• An ability to work supportively and in collaboration with colleagues

Education and Experience Requirements

• Experience working with children in grades 1–8 in an educational or extracurricular setting
• Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred

• Waldorf teacher training (completed or in progress)
• Previous Waldorf teaching experience

About Marin Waldorf School

Marin Waldorf School offers a comprehensive educational experience through its vibrant parent/toddler program, two preschools, two kindergartens, and a full grades program (grades 1–8). Our 10-acre campus includes a beautiful oak grove, biodynamic garden, very large grass playing field, multiple play areas and gardens for Early Childhood through 8th grade as well as a library and a woodwork studio.
