Complex conducts in-studio interviews, field shoots at events, and collaborations with hosts/creators to produce timely video content for social platforms.

Complex News encompasses in-studio interviews with talent across pop culture, music, style, sneakers, and more. We cover events, pop-ups, festivals, and cultural tentpoles, and work with hosts/creators to produce explainer videos for quick turnaround on topical moments and evergreen topics. We are seeking a Complex News Producer who can manage projects across multiple topical verticals from A-Z, working alongside social editors and other stakeholders to deliver timely and excellent video content for our social platforms.
Who You Are
- Operational and organizational skills, project management and production experience, and an eye for what’s new and next in culture.
- Experience with social media platforms (Meta, TikTok, YouTube), Adobe software, iPhone and camera equipment, CapCut, Airtable, and Google Suite. Experience with data tools and analytics is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in digital news, video production, or content creation, ideally in a fast-paced media environment.
- Strong editorial judgment with an ability to identify and act on emerging trends in pop culture, music, sports, and fashion.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, CapCut, Airtable, and Google Suite.
- Hands-on experience with social-first content production, including optimization for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience managing field shoots, conducting interviews, and collaborating with on-screen talent.
- Ability to extrapolate trends and insights from cultural moments, audience behavior, and social performance data.
- A self-starter with the ability to adapt quickly to breaking news and content pivots.
- Deep understanding of Complex’s brand, voice, and audience.
What You'll Do
- Produce & Execute – Oversee the production of news-related content from concept to delivery across Main, Music, Sports, Pop Culture, Sneakers, and Style vertical social platforms.
- Strategy & Content Development – Help implement a content strategy that aligns with relaunch objectives, focusing on engaging storytelling. Monitor content performance to reach KPIs and goals.
- Collaboration – Work with hosts, guests, and creators to shape compelling on-screen storytelling, ensuring high-quality production and a collaborative environment. Coordinate with internal teams and external creators to expand the brand’s footprint.
- Editorial Edge – Ensure content aligns with Complex’s voice, maintaining authenticity and credibility. Adapt quickly in fast-paced news cycles and stay ahead of cultural and digital trends.

$95,000 - $110,000 a year. The pay range includes salary and commission and may vary based on location, experience, and performance. This range is one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
