Stantec is seeking highly motivated tunnel engineering applicants to join our Energy and Resources business operations in the US West. The position preference is in one of our primary offices in Phoenix, Arizona, Denver, Colorado, or another western US office location.

Your Opportunity

As an entry to mid-level technical professional, you will work with technical teams, collect and analyze geologic/geotechnical information, perform field investigations, execute engineering analyses and design, and prepare reports, plans, specifications, and construction site visits. You will interact with staff at all levels and, externally, with clients, subcontractors, and other firms.

Responsibilities
  • Work with technical teams to deliver technical work, present results, plan project technical portions, develop technical portions of proposals, and provide technical review of work products.
  • Plan and manage tasks and projects to complete on time and within budget.
  • Promote collaboration and teamwork across business lines and geographies.
  • Perform preliminary and detailed analysis and design for tunnels, shafts, caverns, and facilities for hydroelectric or related projects.
  • Develop design concepts through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Utilize technologies for three-dimensional modeling and numerical analyses (empirical and limit equilibrium methods).
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and peer work.
  • Assist with development of proposals for smaller, less complex projects.
  • Travel may be 10% to 25% of the time.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Advanced training in numerical modeling techniques, geologic modeling tools, rock mechanics, and related software to support engineering analyses, including empirical methods and hand calculations.
  • Valid drivers license with REAL ID and good driving record.
Education and Experience
  • 05 years of experience in tunnel engineering.
  • Masters degree in Civil, Tunneling, Mining, Geotechnical, Geological Engineering, or a related field with emphasis on tunnel engineering.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Typical office environment with computer work; field work may include exposure to the elements.

Pay and Benefits

Pay ranges vary by location. Example ranges include:

  • Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas Min Salary $72,400.00; Max Salary $101,300.00
  • Locations in WA, DC & Various CA areas Min Salary $77,600.00; Max Salary $108,700.00

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Some roles may be bonus eligible.
