Layout Designer
We are seeking an outstanding mechanical CAD engineer who possesses excellent technical and analytical skills, along with a proven ability to achieve goals swiftly and efficiently. This role involves creating both detailed and high-level drawings of warehouse design material handling equipment, conveyors, work areas, and fulfillment center storage solutions. The designs will be based on current templates and will also support future templates, requiring a high level of detail in 3D Revit-based layouts and 2D AutoCAD plan views and elevation views.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed and high-level drawings of warehouse design material handling equipment, conveyors, work areas, and fulfillment center storage solutions.
- Develop 3D Revit-based layouts as well as 2D AutoCAD plan views and corresponding elevation views.
- Work independently with various stakeholders to deliver high-standard designs.
- Support the design of future templates based on current design principles.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM field
- 3 years of professional experience working with AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous directions
- Capability to establish priorities, work independently or in a group, and work with minimal supervision
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar fields
- 5 years of professional experience in a fast-paced design environment using both AutoCAD and Revit, including layout and sheet creation
- Knowledge of material handling equipment, conveyors, sortation systems, storage systems, and warehouse design
- Familiarity with online file document management systems such as BIM360 and ACC
- Parametric modeling background with experience creating detailed families/parts/dynamic blocks that utilize code or functions to drive modularity
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in either Bellevue or Nashville, with the potential to move to a hybrid setup. The organization is growing, offering the potential for this role to become a full-time position. The team engages in high-level concept engineering that plans out fulfillment centers, starting with templates or blank slates. Projects are completed in 2-3 days, with a lot of edits and re-dos based on feedback from stakeholders. The work involves using image-altering platforms to generate a 2D idea, which is then visualized and made more realistic using a 3D platform.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Bellevue, Washington.
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.50/hr.
