Associate Director of Events

ABOUT THE ROLE

Mansueto Ventures, parent company of Fast Company and Inc., is seeking a creative, experienced, and strategic Associate Director of Events to join our Events team. In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of events that bring our influential brands to life. Reporting to the SVP of Events and working with a small but mighty internal team, you'll collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, sales, marketing, and product teams as well as freelance staff to deliver exceptional experiences that drive impact. You will own the full lifecycle of events from strategy and ideation through execution and post-event analysis ensuring our events align with broader business goals and brand identity.

Salary range: $108,000 - $130,000 + bonus eligible. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Lead end-to-end planning, production, and execution of live, virtual, and hybrid events.
• Develop and manage event strategies that align with company goals and brand values.
• Source, manage, and contract with venues, vendors, freelancers, and production partners.
• Create and own event budgets to make informed decisions and find cost savings.
• Analyze event performance to identify growth and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with the Consumer Marketing team to support attendee acquisition and engagement strategies.
• Collaborate with Sales to craft sponsorable event opportunities and execute engaging brand activations that exceed client expectations.
• Cultivate partnerships to develop innovative ideas that elevate the event experience and set us apart from the competition.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Proven track record in managing both in-person and virtual events at a senior level.
• Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Highly proactive and self-motivated, with a calm, solutions-oriented approach in high-pressure environments.
• Strong multitasking abilities managing multiple events simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships across internal teams and with external partners, including vendors and sponsors.
• Strategic thinker who thrives on seamless execution and bringing ideas to life.
• Collaborative team player with a passion for creating innovative, experiential events.
• Experience working in media/publishing is a plus.
