Overview
KDA is seeking an intermediate designer to join our boutique architecture and interior design studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn. We specialize in creating sophisticated, contemporary spaces throughout New York City and the surrounding region, providing comprehensive architectural and interior design services from initial concept through construction completion.
We're looking for a motivated designer ready to contribute meaningfully to all aspects of our high-end residential projects.
What You'll Do
- Schematic design development and conceptual presentations
- 3D modeling and rendering for client presentations
- Design development packages and material specifications
- Finish and fixture selections
- Construction document preparation and filing
- Furniture curation and procurement
- Project coordination and client communication
- Construction administration and site visits
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of professional experience in architecture or interior design
- Professional degree in architecture or interior design (or equivalent experience)
- Hands-on experience with construction documentation
- Genuine passion for interior design and material exploration
- Strong design sensibility and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Vectorworks and Lumion preferred but not required
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship not available)
Work Environment
We value in-person collaboration and believe direct access to our material library is essential to our design process. Our hybrid schedule typically requires 3-4 days per week in our DUMBO office, with flexible remote work supported by company-issued laptops. Schedule flexibility adapts to project demands and team needs.
