The Graphic Operator is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing artwork files for production in the printing industry. This role requires technical expertise in graphic software, an understanding of print specifications, and a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate, high-quality output that meets customer and production requirements.
The position calls for preparing (preflight, adjusting and trapping) digital files for Computer-to-Plate (CTP) processes.
The position will require knowledge of the following programs:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Acrobat Pro
Knowledge in the following programs is preferred:
Adobe InDesign

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and modify digital artwork files to meet print production requirements.
• Ensure accuracy of layouts, color separations, bleeds, die lines, and image resolution.
• Collaborate with prepress, production, and customer service teams to resolve artwork or file issues.
• Operate graphic and prepress software (Adobe Creative Suite, Esko, etc.) to prepare files for output.
• Perform proofing, imposition, trapping, and step-and-repeat tasks as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of printing processes (flexographic, digital, offset, screen printing) and apply best practices to artwork preparation.
• Troubleshoot and correct file errors to ensure efficient print runs and minimal downtime.
• Organize and archive artwork files according to company standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in graphic/prepress workflows.
• Maintain consistent quality standards and meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Communications, Printing, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a graphic operator, prepress, or related role within the printing industry.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other prepress software.
• Knowledge of color management, print resolution, file formats (PDF, EPS, AI), and RIP software.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with flexographic, digital, or offset printing preferred.
