We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, proactive writer who can translate specialized IT system information into clear and concise language for the layperson in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data collection SMEs and system developers to gather, analyze, and compose complex technical information; conduct research and ensure proper use of technical terminology.
  • Translate technical information into clear, readable documents for both technical and non-technical audiences; organize material and write descriptively according to established standards for clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology; select visual aids such as photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
  • Develop communication materials for various formats including publications, internet, strategic initiatives, user manuals, training materials, installation guides, white papers, and reports; create, write, and edit functional descriptions, system specifications, and other customer deliverables.
  • Provide technical writing support and interpret directions from scripted storyboards, specifications, etc.
  • Review documents for technical accuracy in compliance with applicable regulations.

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant writing experience; DoD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand SQL database programming language.
  • Proficiency with navigating DBVisualizer and Amazon Redshift database environment and schemas.
  • Experience creating infographics to aid understanding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with agile methodologies and knowledge of IT and software development.
  • Experience with DoD acquisition processes.
  • Familiarity with JIRA or Collibra.
  • Ability to maintain security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
  • Knowledge of PySpark and Figma is a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or sciences.

Additional Details

  • Full-Time, Senior-Level, On-site position.
  • Competitive salary range: $75,000 - $100,000/year, DOE.
