What You'll Do

• Design therapeutic musical interventions based on therapeutic goals
• Plan and provide music therapy sessions to improve clients\' physical and mental health
• Monitor client progress consistently to measure effectiveness of sessions
• Collaborate regularly with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
• Maintain thorough documentation of all sessions conducted
• Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is complete

What We're Looking For

• Degree/certification in music or music therapy
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required
• Proficiency in playing and teaching music
• Group facilitation experience
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and observational skills
• Strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
• Warm, supportive, dignified character which inspires trust and models recovery principles

Where You'll Work

Avenues Recovery Center at Eastern Shore is a 100-bed residential facility offering inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. The building is newly renovated, modern and appealing, with amenities and a true hotel-like experience, set on 7.74 acres of picturesque, secluded property. Our multidisciplinary staff include therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, addictions counselors and behavioral health technicians who provide compassionate, dignified and unsurpassed care daily.
