Salary Range: $25-$34/hr. (salary equivalent: $52,000-$70,720)
Pay Rate: Hourly, with benefits. Commensurate with experience.

Pay Period: 1 st and 15 th of the month
Position Purpose: This is a part-time, hourly position for a hands-on, positive, and reliable Studio Assistant to work directly with the Senior Designer and Design Team on all aspects of design process and studio administration.
Responsibilities and duties
- Administrative Responsibilities: Juggle multiple deadlines, project scopes and aesthetics simultaneously.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Manage Design Library maintenance & organization.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Enter accurate monthly client Design Time information.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Client Design and Financial binder filing and organization.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Assist with obtaining and entering timely Client Order and Purchase Order pricing data in Studio Designer system.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Assist with Purchase Order submissions to vendors.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate project action item lists using Asana.
- Business Development: Assist with photoshoot coordination, sourcing, styling, and onsite facilitation.
- Business Development: Utilize growing knowledge of trade resources and vendors.
- Business Development: Attend industry events, trade shows and openings.
- Business Development: Maintain and grow thoughtful professional relationships with clients and vendors.
- Business Development: Assist with social media updates.
- Client Management: Support the Design Team during client meetings, take meeting minutes, create task lists for distribution using Asana.
- Client Management: Coordinate project installations and assist as required under Studio Director direction.
- Client Management: Create solutions and communicate with vendors and colleagues in the spirit of the firm’s mission and values.
- Design: Create floor, space, and furniture plans & elevations (Auto-CAD and hand drafting).
- Design: Source furnishings, fixtures, fabrics, and accessories under direction of Design Team.
- Design: Create schematic client presentation drawings per Design Team instructions.
- Design: Work on custom furniture plans and technical drawings for construction.
- Design: Prepare client presentations.
- Design: Communicate with manufacturers and showrooms.
- Design: Create Construction Schedules with accurate product information for all furniture, plumbing, appliances, lighting and finishes for Design Team review and submission.
- Design: Maintain project Picture Book with all related item tear sheets, customization notes specifications, and drawings.
- Design: Work with Studio Director to coordinate expediting process (vendor to warehouse), adhere to project deadlines.
- Design: Works with Senior Designer to ensure all design hours are within billable quotes.
Qualification Standards
- Enrolled or recent graduate of accredited Interior Design program
- 3+ months prior work at an interior design firm
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and hand-drafting
- Experience with Sketch-up, Photoshop
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Professional manner and appearance
- Social media savvy
- Familiar with San Francisco design showrooms
- Work under pressure, produce deliverables and meet deadlines
- Current driver’s license with access to car.
Physical Demands
- Most work tasks are performed in a space where the environmental conditions vary widely.
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to move items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. routinely.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to perform daily tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate basic design equipment.
- Must be able to work well under pressure managing multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work with potential allergenic properties inherent in various materials.
