Datacenter Locations: Phoenix, AZ | Salt Lake City, UT | Boise, ID Work Modality: In-Office or Hybrid (3 days per week) Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (Direct Hire also considered) Compensation: $50 – $60/hr (Contract) | $100K – $125K annually (Direct Hire)
Overview We are seeking a Senior Process Piping BIM Designer with strong experience in wastewater, semiconductor, or datacenter facilities — Intel project experience is required.
This is a senior-level role with both technical and leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will not only bring advanced BIM/3D design expertise but also demonstrate the ability to lead BIM execution, coordinate across disciplines, mentor junior designers, and act as the Project CAD/BIM Lead.
*This position can be filled as either contract-to-hire or direct hire, depending on candidate and client preference*.
Key Responsibilities Lead BIM execution on projects and serve as the Project CAD/BIM Lead Develop piping system layouts, including spacing, fittings, valve locations, and inline components in 3D models and 2D drawings Generate fabrication isometric drawings from 3D design models Coordinate work among multiple parties and disciplines to ensure smooth project delivery Provide clash detection reporting using Autodesk Navisworks or Bentley Navigator Create model interrogation data reports (quantities, parts lists, etc.) Perform QA/QC of models and drawings, ensuring adherence to project CAD/BIM standards Mentor junior staff, provide technical guidance, and act as a resource for training and development Convert data between MicroStation and AutoCAD as needed
Qualifications 10+ years of engineering design experience Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or GED equivalent Intel project experience is required (semiconductor or datacenter) Background in wastewater, semiconductor, or datacenter facilities Demonstrated experience leading a team of designers and coordinating multi-discipline work Proven ability to mentor junior staff; references from at least one prior mentee are a plus Advanced knowledge of 3D design concepts and process mechanical piping design Expertise in Autodesk Revit MEP or Bentley OpenPlant Modeler Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (2D & 3D) Knowledge of AWWA and ANSI B16 piping standards Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
