POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Public Relations & Executive Visibility is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s external messaging strategy. This role is responsible for managing media relations, press outreach, and thought leadership initiatives to elevate Newrez’s brand and reputation. A successful candidate will drive strategic efforts that will position Newrez as a recognized industry leader, enhancing brand sentiment and increasing engagement across both B2B and B2C audiences. Key focus areas include executive visibility, high impact thought leadership, and targeted media engagement. Responsibilities
Develop and execute PR strategies that align with corporate goals and brand positioning. Manage relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers in the financial services industry. Draft and distribute press releases, media pitches, and executive communications. Coordinate interviews, speaking engagements, and media training for senior leaders. Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging across channels. Evaluate and prioritize external communications opportunities to maximize brand impact. Build and expand the executive visibility calendar. Develop and maintain a comprehensive Newrez Crisis Communications Playbook, ensuring alignment and approval across all internal stakeholders. Lead proactive and reactive communications strategies to protect and enhance the company’s reputation during high-stakes situations. Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in public relations or journalism, preferably at a PR agency or financial news outlet (e.g., CNBC, Dow Jones, Reuters). Proven success in media relations and external communications strategy. Experience working with senior executives and managing high-stakes communications. Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Strong verbal communication skills; strong writing and composition abilities. Excellent understanding of media dynamics and storytelling in the financial services space. Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across the organization. Sharp analytical skills & problem-solving abilities; solid decision-making abilities coupled with sound judgment. Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidential information. Understanding of consumer issues, mortgage markets, and financial product landscape. Additional Information
