About our Team
You will be part of the editorial and analyst team for the Americas. This position will be part of the Americas Recycling Team. In the Americas, the editorial team is organized in four squads which include olefins, polymers, vinyls, and aromatics. This position will report to the Director of Polymers.
About the Role
In this role, you will research market infrastructure, develop sourcesandlaunch newmethodologies andweeklyprice assessments, and track supply and demand. You will alsoproduce breaking news and data-driven analysisand thought leadershipthrough stories,data visualization, videos and podcaststo explain market movements to our customers. Assist in recycling analytics and forecast, sales, product and business development teamsto drive market engagement and innovationand raiseourreputation in the sectorwill be a key indicator of success.
Responsibilities
- Research market infrastructure and supply/demand dynamics
- Develop a wide network of sources within the US recycling industry for PET, PE and PP; communicate with them weekly to discover pricing and market trends
- Collaborate with Market Analysts and Editors for Virgin PET, PE and PP
- Produce weekly price assessments and write supporting news and insightful analysis in real time to explain market dynamics to customers
- Proactively chase stories related to your markets
- Actively participate and contribute to global recycling team
- Create thought leadership to raise coverage profile through videos, podcasts and data visualization
- Deliver market presentations via webinar or in person at events
- Travel to industry events and engage with the industry
Requirements
- Commitment to high ethics and standards
- Strong research and analytical skills; experience launching price assessments is an advantage
- Understanding of market economics
- High level of accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to write insightful content to strict deadlines
- Working knowledge of Excel/Excel-based business tools
- Fluent written and spoken English; Spanish and/or Portuguese is an advantage
