Overview
Lively X Studio is seeking a passionate and organized Studio Manager to join our team. This is currently a 16 hours per week (part-time contract) position with the opportunity to expand to a full-time role with benefits. The studio offers group exercise classes in pilates, HIIT and strength training, personal training, and nutrition coaching services, located in downtown Palo Alto.
Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee studio operations, including scheduling, assist with class set-up/check-in, and staff coordination.
- Ensure the studio environment is safe, clean, and fully stocked with supplies.
- Lead cleaning and sanitation protocols, including: implementing and monitoring daily and monthly cleaning checklists; ensuring staff follow studio-wide cleaning standards before, during, and after classes.
- Oversee organization of equipment, props, and storage areas; maintain hygiene and presentation in all spaces (lobby, restrooms, workout floor).
Client Experience
- Provide excellent customer service and be the main point of contact for members.
- Handle membership inquiries, onboarding, and client concerns.
- Create a positive, motivating, and community-driven atmosphere; drive membership sales, renewals, and studio retail.
- Track performance metrics (attendance, revenue, retention) and create action plans to improve results.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, events, and community partnerships.
Social Management
- Create and manage content for Instagram; assist in planning and scheduling engaging fitness-related content.
- Collaborate with instructors to highlight classes, events, and success stories.
Additional
- May service personal training sessions or teach group training classes where there is business need or applicability.
- Schedule and participate in networking/community events and studio promotions.
- Strategically manage marketing campaigns to generate leads for the studio.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred with experience as a personal trainer or fitness instructor, ideal.
- Previous experience in fitness, wellness, or hospitality management preferred.
- Confident in generating sales and networking; ability to manage and drive multiple revenue streams including memberships and retail.
- Previous management or supervisory experience required; ability to excel in a fast-changing, diverse environment.
- Solution-based and results-oriented; competitive spirit with strong judgement to identify areas for improvement.
- Affinity and passion for fitness; highly organized with proficiency in data management, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- Professional, punctual, reliable, and neat with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information; ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients, and the general public.
- Proficiency with computers and studio software; ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods; flexible schedule with nights and weekend availability.
