Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field. 5 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above). 3 years of experience managing projects, and working in a changing organization. Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. We collaborate with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for users and Google’s businesses. As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you’ll help your team of UXers, product managers, and engineers understand user needs. You’ll work with stakeholders across functions and levels and have impact at all stages of product development. You’ll conduct primary research such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis to explore user behaviors and motivations. The UXR community at Google offers opportunities to learn from UXRs across Google through regular meetups, mentor programs, and access to internal research tools. Google Ads powers the open internet with technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. Our teams work on Google’s Advertising products, including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, and analytics, delivering trusted experiences and measurable results for advertisers of all sizes. Salary for this full-time position in the US base range is $151,000–$222,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location; individual pay is influenced by location, skills, experience, and education. Your recruiter can share the specific range for your location during the hiring process. Compensation details listed reflect base salary only and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Own and drive the research roadmap for the team, leading multi-phase projects that include both tactical and strategic efforts. Design and execute high-quality studies to uncover insights, including qualitative methods (e.g., user interviews, usability tests) and quantitative work (e.g., surveys). Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from various sources to answer key product questions; advocate for findings through clear written reports, presentations, and other communications. Work with Design, Product Management, and Engineering leaders to integrate technical and business requirements into research. Equality and accommodations
