Overview
This role leads the marketing function to support the launch and long-term commercialization of the company’s first CAR T-cell therapy. The leader will develop and execute the marketing strategy, oversee brand positioning, drive market penetration, and build a high-performing team. As a key member of the US Biomedicine leadership team, this position contributes to commercial, operational, and launch plans aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. The role combines strategic and hands-on work with deep expertise in oncology, market dynamics, digital and tactical marketing, and customer engagement. The individual will collaborate across functions to ensure cross-functional alignment and sustained growth beyond launch. This position reports to the Chief Officer, North America Biomedicine. Remote working / work at home options are available for this role.
Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Execution: develop and execute the marketing strategy, create annual brand plans with clear success metrics and budgets, lead product positioning and messaging, oversee digital and tactical marketing initiatives, and define KPIs to optimize tactics.
Marketing Materials & Campaigns: oversee HCP promotional materials for field use, execute campaigns across channels, and develop a digital media strategy to engage HCPs and patients/caregivers.
Agency & Partner Management: manage advertising agencies, ensure compliance with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory guidelines, and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: participate in Commercial Leadership Team, partner with sales, market access, medical affairs, and R&D to ensure alignment and data-driven decision making with analytics and finance.
Customer & Market Insights: leverage oncology market knowledge and KOL relationships to inform go-to-market strategy and develop customer engagement plans.
Communications & Training: lead external communications, develop training programs for commercial and field teams, and collaborate on training initiatives with US leadership.
Compliance & Operational Excellence: ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements, manage the promotional review process, and oversee marketing budgeting.
Team Leadership & Development: build and grow a high-performing marketing team with a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and inclusive development.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD).
Minimum 12 years in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry with at least 8 years in progressive marketing leadership roles; oncology/hematology/cell therapy marketing strongly preferred.
Proven track record launching therapies in complex settings (cell therapy, oncology, transplant, rare diseases).
Experience building and leading high-performing teams with strong people management.
Strong understanding of HCP engagement, patient education, payer marketing, and sales training strategies; experience with cross-functional teams is valued.
Existing relationships with KOLs, key accounts, or academic societies is a plus.
Collaborative leadership with strong communication, analytical, and strategic execution skills; startup-oriented with ability to navigate fast-paced environments.
Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing regulations and compliance, including FDA guidelines and OIG requirements.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions, including frequent walking, handling, reaching, speaking, and hearing. The role may require lifting up to 50 pounds and varying vision requirements. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is required.
Work Environment
The role is performed in a variety of facilities with a home office environment required. Travel to customer sites is necessary, and exposure to natural elements may occur. Use of research/clinical equipment, SOPs, and PPE may be required.
