What you will do As a Principal Visual Designer at Bumble, you operate at the highest level of craft leadership, setting the visual direction for conversational and agentic experiences across our products. This role translates complex AI-driven interactions into warm, human, and trustworthy experiences that align with Bumble's values of Respect, Excellence, Curiosity, Courage, and Joy. You are not only accountable for delivering best-in-class design work yourself but also for raising the bar of visual design craft org-wide . You influence strategy, shape systems, and ensure that Bumble's approach to conversational and agentic product experiences is distinctive, scalable, and culturally resonant . Core accountabilities Vision & Craft Leadership – Define and drive the visual design vision for Bumble's conversational and agentic experiences; establish and maintain the highest standard of craft quality across the org. Systems & Standards – Extend and mature Bumble's design system to support conversational UI patterns and agentic flows; set standards for typography, color, iconography, and motion language in AI-driven contexts, ensuring global and inclusive scalability; partner with design systems and engineering to codify these standards into reusable frameworks. Cross-Functional Influence – Partner with Product, Engineering, and AI/ML teams to shape how conversational features are designed, built, and launched; represent visual design at the strategy table and influence executive decision-making; mentor mid-level designers and shape Bumble's design culture. Exploration & Future-Facing Work – Lead exploration into new paradigms for conversational and agentic experiences; prototype new visual metaphors for AI and position Bumble as a thought leader in humanizing AI through design. What you will bring 12+ years of deep experience in product/visual design, including senior leadership in conversational, agentic, or AI-driven experiences A portfolio demonstrating mastery of visual craft in digital products, with evidence of scaling conversational or agentic systems Strong cross-functional leadership with ability to partner credibly with executives, engineers, and researchers Experience as a mentor and culture-builder; able to set organizational craft standards Passionate about designing for trust, inclusivity, and safety About Us Bumble Inc. is the parent company of Bumble, Badoo, Bumble For Friends, and Geneva.
