Summary/Objective of Position:
The Multimedia Production Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing high-quality, culturally aligned multimedia content that aligns with Dine College's mission and Navajo philosophy. This role involves leveraging advanced production techniques to create content for various platforms, including social media, livestreams, and the college's website, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity. The Specialist will utilize storytelling and design expertise to highlight institutional achievements, programs, and events effectively, engaging target audiences such as students, faculty, alumni, and the Navajo Nation. Their work will focus on enhancing brand visibility, driving audience engagement, and supporting strategic objectives such as student recruitment, donor relations, and community outreach.

Essential Functions of the Multimedia Specialist
- Creative Marketing:
- Develop and execute multimedia content that incorporates visual, auditory, and emotional elements.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends to create engaging and innovative marketing materials.
- Foster community engagement and ensure consistent brand management across all platforms.
- Analytical Marketing:
- Focus on the technical aspects of marketing, including data collection and analysis.
- Manage social media platforms, email campaigns, and track statistical growth.
- Optimize content and campaigns for search engine performance (SEO).
- Influencer Role:
- Act as a brand ambassador to inspire and motivate audiences.
- Engage in public relations, radio appearances, and community outreach to build brand awareness.
- Research and Digital Growth:
- Research to inform marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Manage digital advertising efforts to drive growth and achieve marketing objectives.
- Drone Operation:
- Hold a drone certification and operate drones for marketing purposes, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
- Nomenclature and Inventory Management:
- Maintain experience with nomenclature for inventory, technical equipment, and office supplies.
- Ensure proper organization and tracking of inventory while adhering to established guidelines and policies.
- Independence and Directive Management:
- Work independently while effectively managing tasks and responsibilities.
- Receive and execute directives as they are communicated through the portal or staff.
- Professionalism and Interpersonal Skills:
- Maintain a pleasant personal appearance and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
- Exhibit courtesy and the ability to get along with both internal and external staff.
- Performance Under Pressure:
- Work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- FERPA Compliance:
- Possess a thorough understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its implications for student privacy.
- Ensure that all student-related data, media, and communications comply with FERPA regulations.
- Handle sensitive student information responsibly, maintain confidentiality and adhering to institutional policies.
- Journalism Protocols and Privacy Acts:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of journalistic ethics and protocols, including accuracy, fairness, and accountability in reporting.
- Adhere to Copyright regulations to ensure the ethical handling of protected & privileged information.
- Maintain transparency and integrity in all communications, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.,
- Collaborate with teams to ensure that all content respects privacy laws and journalistic and media guidelines.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Minimum:
- A bachelor's degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is required, with 3-5 years of professional experience in multimedia production, including video production, photography, and editing.
- Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education, with
- an additional 5-years for a bachelor's degree,
- 7 years for a master's degree, or
- 3 years for an associate degree.
Preferred:
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, along with 3-5 years of experience in multimedia production, such as video production, photography, and editing.
- A strong portfolio showcasing creative work and experience in higher education is highly desirable.
Knowledge:
- Proficiency in video production, photography, and editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro and Creative Suite is essential.
- Familiarity with livestreaming, CMS platforms like WordPress, social media tools, analytics (Google Analytics), and SEO strategies is required.
- Awareness of college culture and diverse audiences is critical.
- Developing and generating marketing strategies.
Skills:
- Exceptional skills in video production, photography, graphic design, and storytelling are required.
- Strong writing abilities for marketing materials, social media, and press releases are essential.
- Candidates must excel in collaboration, time management, and creating engaging, platform-specific content for social media.
Abilities:
- The candidate must adapt quickly to new tools and trends, manage multiple projects, and work independently or collaboratively.
- They should demonstrate cultural sensitivity, handle media-related crises professionally, and create inclusive, mission-aligned content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:
- The role requires lifting to 50 pounds of equipment, working outdoors in various conditions, and working in positions that require prolonged standing or sitting.
- Occasional evening, weekend work, and travel to off-campus locations for events and media production are necessary.
- A valid driver's license is required.
