Position Summary

North Gwinnett Church is seeking a part-time Music Ministry Director to lead and grow our worship ministry in a way that glorifies God and engages the congregation. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading music for our Sunday morning services, special events, and seasonal programs. The Music Ministry Director will work closely with the interim and future senior pastor, staff, and volunteers to support the church’s mission of helping people Know Jesus, Grow in their faith, and Go serve others.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Worship: Plan and lead worship for Sunday morning services, selecting music that aligns with the message and encourages congregational participation.
• Coordinate Volunteers: Recruit, schedule, and rehearse with volunteer musicians and vocalists to build a cohesive worship team.
• Music Planning: Choose a blend of contemporary and traditional music appropriate for a multigenerational congregation.
• Technical Coordination: Collaborate with the audio/visual team to ensure quality sound and media production.
• Special Services: Prepare music for holidays and special events (e.g., Christmas, Easter, worship nights).
• Spiritual Leadership: Foster spiritual growth and community within the worship team through prayer, mentorship, and discipleship.

Qualifications

• Faith & Character: A committed follower of Jesus Christ who supports the mission and beliefs of North Gwinnett Church.
• Experience: Previous experience leading worship in a church or ministry setting preferred.
• Musical Ability: Proficiency in at least one lead instrument (e.g., piano or guitar) and strong vocal ability.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team of volunteers with humility, clarity, and collaboration.
• Time Commitment: Approximately 15–20 hours per week, including Sunday mornings and one evening rehearsal per week.
