Overview
Oncology Music Therapist
Responsibilities
- Provide music therapy to support the developmental, rehabilitative, psychological, socioemotional, and psychoeducational needs of BCH patients and families from various demographic and multicultural backgrounds.
- Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assess, evaluate, and document the therapeutic needs of patients to address the medical, procedural, surgical, diagnostic, and prognostic experiences of patients and families.
- Provide basic guidance and instruction on student/intern performance and interactions with patients and families.
Education
Bachelor\'s degree in Music Therapy
Experience
- 1 year work experience in a medical setting and/or working with children.
- The ability to adhere to AMTA standards of practice, code of ethics and professional competencies.
- Demonstrated proficient knowledge in music therapy clinical practice, musical skills, child development and the impact of healthcare on neurodevelopmental outcomes.
Licensure/Certifications
Certification or the eligibility to sit for certification exam within 18 months of hire are preferred
