Position Overview
The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received. Adjunct faculty are limited to teaching two courses per semester.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A Master of Fine Arts degree, or a degree from a related field.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
The Music Appreciation Adjunct Instructor should have in-depth knowledge of the history, styles, and cultural impact of American music, including genres such as jazz, blues, gospel, folk, country, rock, hip-hop, and classical traditions. They must be skilled in delivering engaging, student-centered instruction to non-music majors, with the ability to explain musical concepts and historical context in accessible terms. Strong communication, student-centered teaching practices, and the effective use of multimedia and digital tools are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience in college instruction.
- Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
- Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
- Familiarity with online modes of delivery.

Job Duties
Adjunct faculty plan classes and implement and evaluate teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertake the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours.
