Overview
Senior UX Designer role at CDK Global. The Senior UX Designer is responsible for the end-to-end experience of a product, a project, or a feature, collaborating with cross-functional product teams to create joyful user experiences for the automotive industry.
About CDK Global: CDK Global is a leading provider of cloud-based software to dealerships and Original Equipment Manufacturers ("OEMs") across automotive and related industries. The cloud-based SaaS platform enables dealerships to manage end-to-end business operations including acquisition, sale, financing, insuring, repair, and maintenance of vehicles, improving sustainability and efficiency for customers and dealers.
Responsibilities
- Work with Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering and Design teams to help define product goals, requirements and represent users’ point of view throughout the product planning process.
- Design workflows, solution sketches, wireframes and prototypes to illustrate the best solutions.
- Apply business intelligence tools knowledge (e.g., Looker, Power BI) during design work as appropriate.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver designed workflows as envisioned.
- Verify and improve designs through reviews, validations and formal usability testing with end users.
- Conduct Design Sprints, build rapid prototypes, and test with real users; speed and agility are emphasized.
- Make informed design decisions even when data is limited and identify and correct potential issues pre- and post-shipping.
- Take ownership of contributing to and evolving the design system.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative design culture.
What We Look For
- 3 - 5 years of experience with UX Design preferred
- 2+ years of experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.
- Passionate about Design Thinking and user-centered design (UCD), research and testing, lean and agile methodologies
- Strong storytelling ability to illustrate simple user stories
- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Agile, adaptable, and capable of delivering new products and features
- Comfort working with developers in the presentation layer (e.g., HTML, CSS)
- Good aesthetic sense and attention to detail; strong wireframing and prototyping skills
- Experience with conducting user research is a plus
- A solid portfolio showing a track record of crafting exceptional experiences

Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $119,000 - $150,000
CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on skills, experience, certifications, and work location. The package may include annual performance bonus, benefits and other incentive plans. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, PTO, 401K matching, and Tuition Reimbursement.
