Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Senior Video Product Specialist (Sr Specialist, Technical). The Senior Video Product Specialist will be part of product planning related responsibilities, including new product launches such as cinema and broadcast products, research and future product planning, and tradeshow planning, setup and demonstrations of Canon products. This position is full time with a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with an option to work from home the remainder of the week, subject to business needs.
Responsibilities
- New Product Launch: review tech notes and product manuals, create bullet points and presentation slides, become a tech evangelist, and contribute to successful launches.
- Occasional Back-up PR Spokesperson: back up the main spokesperson for camera/lens products.
- 3rd Party Vendor Relationships: serve as main or supporting point of contact for 3D CAD drawing requests and related tasks.
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and isolate technical problems, recommending actions and solutions; proficiency with the Canon product line, particularly professional and industrial applications.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Broadcast and Cinema Lenses and advanced customer support techniques may be required.
- Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs, use hand tools, close visual acuity for computer work and tool use, and exposure to outdoor/set environments.
- Travel 25% or more nationwide.
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record; driving is an essential function of the job and must comply with safety policies.
