Overview

Midtown Family Services provides support for low-income individuals/families living in San Jose and surrounding communities in two program areas: financial counseling and navigation services for low income, working community members with basic needs; and reentry of individuals back into the community after incarceration in state prison.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, identify the grant request you will work on.
  • Craft well-written and persuasive grant proposals.
  • Manage grant processes including timelines, ensuring compliance with funders' requirements, and submitting proposals on time.

What We Request Of Potential Volunteers

  • Commit to volunteering 4 hours a week while working on the assigned grant.
  • Manage grant processes including timelines, ensuring compliance with funders' requirements, and submitting proposals on time.

What We Will Provide

  • Requirement samples, prior applications and sample budgets and budget narratives for staff positions, activities, or other items to fund.
  • Templates of responses to common questions.
  • A desk and computer in the office to work from.
  • Access to staff and other volunteers for discussion.
  • Coffee, tea, water, and snacks.
