Overview

Reading, Writing & Basic Math Tutor for Homebound Student — Inglewood, CA. We are seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring. This role focuses on Structured Literacy (Dyslexia Focus) and delivering personalized instruction in students\' homes.

As a Structured Literacy Tutor (Dyslexia Focus) at Tutor Me Education, you\'ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs
• Deliver tailored instruction based on the student\'s IEP
• Assist with daily activities and provide moral support
• Adapt lessons for diverse emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental profiles
• Work independently in a home-based setting

Ideal Candidate / Qualifications

• Calm, soft-spoken, and understanding of behavioral and emotional regulation challenges
• Able to establish trust and safety over time through consistency and respect
• Creative and flexible instructional approach without being overstimulating
• Experience with students who prefer solitude or struggle with traditional classroom environments
• Special education background preferred (but not required if experience aligns)
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming teaching practices

• In-Person Tutoring in Inglewood, CA
• Schedule: 2-3 sessions a week after 3pm
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
