Field Installation Technician
As a Field Installation Technician, you will support the installation team, ensuring on-time delivery of installation schedules and meeting customer expectations for quality. You will serve as the liaison between customers and the delivery team, effectively communicating installation status, risks, and any unforeseen impacts to the delivery schedule.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reviews of new system installations to confirm prints and ensure functionality as designed.
- Perform startup and commissioning of new installations.
- Generate installation and commissioning reports.
- Support sub-contractors to ensure installation steps are completed with the expected level of quality per the design intent.
- Conduct training for operations and maintenance teams.
- Provide phone-based support to customers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical systems during startup phases.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems during startup phases.
- Review existing PLC programs to assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing installation and commissioning steps.
- Verify inventory of delivered components to ensure all parts are available for installation.
- Communicate with the customer throughout the installation phase regarding inquiries and requirements from the customer scope of work.
Essential Skills
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with pneumatic systems and conveyor systems.
- Ability to work with 480v and 24v controls panels.
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry and environment.
- Field service and installation experience.
- PLC troubleshooting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial equipment (pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical).
Work Environment
- This position requires working in industrial facilities at customer locations, supporting various industries.
- The role involves travel, approximately 80%-100%, and entails working in a manufacturing environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
