Job Title: Senior Structural Designer

Location: Birmingham, Alabama

Type: 6 month Contract

Compensation: $51.00 hourly

Contractor Work Model: Remote

System One is currently seeking a Senior Structural Designer on a 6 month contract position.

Structural Designer Responsibilities:

• Produce 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork

• Prepare layouts and conceptual designs

• Review vendor shop fabrication drawings

• Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates

• Coordinate work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors

• Perform site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability.

Structural Designer Requirements:

• 20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience

• Proficient using AutoCAD

• Extensive 3D modeling and drawing creation experience is strongly preferred

• Experience with Advance Steel is preferred

• Steel and concrete detailing background is strongly preferred

• Good Technical writing skills

• Must be able to produce clear, concise drawing notes

• Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently

• The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors
