$29 - $40/hour (depending on experience)
Overview: Sterling Engineering is seeking a Junior Designer to join a multidisciplinary consulting firm. This role will focus on electrical distribution design, including BGE solar work and overhead design projects. The position offers full-time, in-office work and the opportunity to contribute to resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects.
Job Responsibilities: Use MicroStation and proprietary programs including GIS and Pole Foreman to compile design packages for client submission. Support Green Power Connection work from the Utility. Design and complete projects for internal QA/QC review. Design overhead and underground extensions in the existing electrical distribution system. Interpret engineered diagrams of pole framings and other equipment to determine requirements and clearances. Job Requirements:
Required:
1-2 years of design experience. High school diploma. Proficiency with MicroStation. Ability to understand overhead distribution design, including tensions and deflection angles. Preferred (not required):
