Adecco Creative is partnering with one of NYC’s most iconic fashion brands to recruit for an Editorial Copywriter role. This position will be hybrid in Midtown Manhattan and is ongoing contract.
Primary Purpose:
The editorial copywriter will create longform articles at scale, optimized for AI and large language model search (AEO - Answer Engine Optimization i.e. ChatGPT, Gemini etc.) for the brand’s site. The initial focus will be developing a series of bag buying guides for the brand, with scope to expand into additional fashion and lifestyle content.
This role requires more than a strong writer: we need a fashion-forward editorial expert who is fluent in the language of fashion — from the latest runway collections to TikTok micro-trends to authentic Gen Z expressions of life and style.
The ideal candidate will bring creativity, authority, and cultural insight to every piece, while staying grounded in brand guidelines and optimization best practices.
While AEO is an emerging arena, a baseline understanding of SEO and deep curiosity around how consumer behaviors are changing in terms of their relationship to search and AI, is paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write longform, AEO-optimized editorial articles across fashion and lifestyle topics, at speed and scale.
- Develop a series of brand bag buying guides that inspire confidence in both fashion and purchase journeys — selling not only bags, but also the sense of self-expression and style they unlock.
- Interpret runway trends, micro-trends, and evolving consumer style with a clear editorial point of view.
- Translate cultural conversation and zeitgeist moments into content that resonates with Gen Z and beyond.
- Infuse all copy with the brand’s core idea: inspiring people to explore and express their many selves and have the courage to be real.
- Balance fashion-forward editorial writing with the technical requirements of AEO and SEO, ensuring discoverability by both people and AI-driven search.
- Collaborate cross functionally to align on performance and storytelling goals.
The accomplished individual will possess:
- A deep fluency in the language of fashion: runway coverage, styling, micro-trends, and Gen Z cultural cues.
- A nuanced understanding of fashion as a vehicle for self-expression and confidence helping people feel put-together while exploring their many selves.
- Exceptional editorial writing and editing skills with the ability to produce high-quality longform content at speed.
- Up-to-date knowledge of global fashion trends, cultural shifts, and emerging generational expressions of style.
- Ability to structure content for performance in a rapidly evolving search landscape.
- A confident, fashion-forward voice that blends authority with accessibility.
- A genuine curiosity about AEO and a commitment to bringing a distinctly human touch to optimized content.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of editorial or copywriting experience, ideally in fashion, luxury, or lifestyle media.
- Portfolio that demonstrates fashion fluency, cultural awareness, and content designed to perform at scale.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
