Overview
Creative Direct Marketing Group (CDMG) is seeking a versatile Graphic Designer to join our team in Nashville. The ideal candidate will have strong creative and technical design skills, thrive in a fast-paced direct mail and direct response marketing environment, and bring fresh ideas while maintaining consistency with client brands. We are looking for someone who can deliver excellent work independently and collaboratively, with the potential to grow into greater leadership responsibilities over time.
This is not a remote position; candidates must work in our Nashville office.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Art Director, Account Executives, and marketing team to ensure consistency of designs across media outlets and meet client deadlines.
- Create compelling and effective logos, layouts, direct mail packages, ads, and digital campaigns.
- Combine graphics, written content, and advertisements to create visually appealing, conversion-driven layouts.
- Select colors, layouts, typefaces, and fonts for promotional pieces that align with client and campaign goals.
- Apply advanced skills in editorial production and pre-press to prepare files accurately for print vendors.
- Decide on visuals to accompany written content while maintaining brand standards.
- Ensure brand consistency across direct mail, digital, and print formats.
- Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape, and market trends.
- Foster positive, productive relationships with internal partners and external vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or experience in a related field.
- 5 - 7+ years of professional graphic design experience (direct mail, direct response, or agency environment strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Advanced editorial production and pre-press experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong conceptual thinking, typography, and design skills.
- Ability to work as both a team player and independently to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with CDMG departments and external vendors.
- Portfolio showcasing a range of professional design work.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Familiarity with direct response marketing principles and conversion-focused design.
- Experience with email template design, landing pages, or basic HTML/CSS.
- Knowledge of Figma, Canva, WordPress, or similar tools.
- Video editing, or photography skills.
