Senior Exhibit Designer

Schedule: Monday – Friday (OT and weekends may be required)
Compensation: $85,000 – $95,000 annually (DOE) + bonus opportunities

Overview

Senior Exhibit Designers at Steelhead Productions serve as both visionary creators and strategic collaborators. In this role, you’ll lead the design of physical environments that solve for brand objectives in highly competitive trade show and experiential contexts. As the creative lead in many client interactions, you’ll not only bring ideas to life but also help win the work through powerful storytelling, thoughtful design, and confident presentation.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the creation of innovative, brand-aligned trade show exhibits and environments
• Balance creativity with client budgets, maximizing impact without compromising feasibility
• Serve as the primary creative lead in client meetings, reviews, and pitch presentations
• Act as the lead creative on major RFPs, developing strategic concepts and compelling presentations
• Collaborate with Account Directors, Client Services, Estimating, and Production to ensure feasibility and alignment
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to maintaining high creative standards across the team
• Produce clear, accurate design documentation including renderings, floor plans, and production handoff files

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of exhibit or experiential design experience (trade shows, live events, or experiential marketing required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Environmental Design, Architecture, or related field
• Mastery of design software: 3ds Max, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (AI tools a plus)
• Strong portfolio showcasing creativity, strategy, and execution at a senior level
• Exceptional communication skills—both visual and verbal—with proven success presenting to clients
• Strategic problem-solver who can balance design innovation with budget and business goals
• Collaborative team player with presence and poise in high-pressure environments
