Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster. Headquartered in Owings Mills, MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and is a producer of both locally and nationally distributed TV programs and digital content.

Main Purpose of Job
Maryland Public Television is seeking a Digital Content Student Fellow who will assist various departments with functions that range from the full gamut of production to the final product. This fellowship program offers an in-depth, hands-on learning experience for college students interested in all stages of broadcast/digital content creation. The program will run from October 2025 through May 2026, at 16 hours per week.

POSITION DUTIES
- The digital content fellow will create and manage various forms of digital content, including assisting with website content uploads, editing videos, and designing digital graphics.
- Collaborate with teams such as marketing and content.
- Uploading, maintaining and troubleshooting website content.
- Creating and editing videos, writing descriptions and creating thumbnails.
- Assisting with photography, production and editing (Avid or Premiere).
- Understanding of digital marketing techniques, social media and YouTube content production.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate is required. Applicants must be current college and/or university students or recent college graduates within the past 6 months.
Experience: Applicants must have prior experience with media production and video editing software.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following qualifications:
- Experience with non-linear editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop and/or Canva)
- Coursework in Film, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline
- Prior internship/work experience in a media environment
- Ability to create and publish to websites (CMS platforms like WordPress) and social media platforms
- Experience managing YouTube accounts
- Include clear and specific examples in your cover letter regarding your experience
