Position Overview
A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
• Customer Service: Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
• Technical Ability: Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Systems Knowledge: Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike; interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment; increase revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator, as needed.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred.
• Internal applicants must meet training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program.
• External applicants must meet/validate and complete all training and certifications required for this position within one year.
• 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
• A valid driver’s license required for team members that may operate Company vehicles.
• Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Hotel/convention center environment with varying noise levels; exposure to high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components; may work at multiple hotel locations; irregular hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply per Encore and individual hotels.

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $15.09 - $18.49. Final compensation is based on location, travel, experience, and skills; some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives.
